3-vehicle crash in Boothbay Harbor Dec. 20 – Boothbay Register

On Monday, Dec. 20 at about 12:13 p.m., Boothbay Harbor Police Officer Jennifer Gosselin was notified by the communications center of a three-vehicle crash on Route 27 in the area of Hawke Motors. Gosselin was on scene at about 12:15.

Upon investigation, it was determined a 2019 Nissan Rogue driven by Richard Gilde, 71, of Boothbay Harbor was headed southbound on Route 27 when it crossed the center line, striking a northbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Harry Hall, 47, of Boothbay Harbor. The Nissan continued along, striking another northbound vehicle, a 2003 Honda Odyssey driven by Raymond Noble III, 25, of Alabama.

All three vehicles sustained damage. The Chevrolet Silverado and the Honda each had a single passenger. Two people were taken by ambulance to Miles Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Boothbay Harbor firefighters were on scene to direct traffic.

At this point, officers investigating believe Gilde may have fallen asleep before crossing the center line.

This case is being forwarded to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for review.
