Fairfield police looking for suspect, vehicle after knifepoint robbery – New Haven Register

Feb. 9, 2022

FAIRFIELD — Police said they are looking for a man and vehicle believed to be connected to a knifepoint robbery at the Cumberland Farms on Post Road.

Officers were called to the store around 10:25 p.m. on Christmas Day, officials said in a release. A victimized individual “reported hearing someone knock on their passenger side door,” then opened the door, assuming it was a friend.

“The suspect then opened the door and threatened to stab the victim if they did not hand over their wallet. The victim handed over his wallet and was not injured,” police said.

Police said the suspect is “described as a light-skinned male who utilized a serrated knife with a red, wooden handle during the commission of the robbery.”

“The vehicle operated by the suspect appears to be a dark-gray or black Nissan sedan that has silver door handles. Of particular importance is the unique black marketing cover (these are typically affixed to new vehicles at car dealerships) that is displayed within the rear license plate holder,” police said. “The marketing cover has the words ‘Bruce Bennett’ in white lettering across the top along with what appears to be the Nissan badge in the center.”

Police asked anyone who could identify the suspect or the vehicle to contact the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840.
