LTO 7 announces zero backlogs on new motor vehicles registration| SUNSTAR – Sun.Star
THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) Central Visayas announced Tuesday, February 15, 2022 that it has zero backlogs in new motor vehicles registrations submitted to their office on or before February 7, 2022.
This means that all applications for new registrations that were submitted to LTO Central Visayas New Registration Unit and Manufacturers, Assemblers, Importers, Rebuilders, Dealers, Other Entities (MAIRDOES) section on the date stated has been successfully released to the motorcycle dealers.
LTO Central Visayas director Victor Emmanuel Caindec said that if the dealers submitted the needed complete documents for new registrations by February 7, they have completed the releasing of the said registration.
“This means that if some dealers delayed submission of records or submitted incomplete records, then these are not covered by the certification issued by the NRU of LTO 7,” Caindec said.
Under section 4 of Republic Act 11235 or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act “The owner of a motorcycle shall register his or her motorcycle with the LTO within five (5) days from such acquisition of ownership.”
“We, therefore, assume that these submissions represent completed applications for 2021 sales since RA 11235 or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, requires dealers to report the sale to LTO within 5 days“ added the regional director. (PR)
