NEW HAVEN — A city woman died in a fatal crash on the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge Sunday evening, according to state police.
Yolanda Ecton, 42, was driving on the span, commonly known as the Q Bridge, around 6 p.m. Sunday, according to a report from Trooper Joshua Jackson of Troop G in Bridgeport.
About one-tenth of a mile from Exit 50 on I-95 South, she “lost control” of her vehicle, a 2014 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid, and “collided with the concrete traffic barrier in the median,” Jackson said.
Ecton suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, Jackson said. A passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
