UDOH-sponsored COVID-19 testing sites for the week of January 24, 2022 | Utah Department of Health – Utah Department of Health
In general, people who have symptoms should act as if they have COVID-19 and stay home (isolate) for five days rather than getting tested. If, after five days, they have no fever and are feeling better, they can return to society and wear a mask for an additional five days. Most people probably don’t need to get a test.
Those who should get a test include:
· People with significant underlying conditions
· Elderly
· Those who work with vulnerable populations (i.e., healthcare workers, long-term care facility employees, people who live or work in congregate settings including prisons and homeless shelters
· If you’re going to visit someone who is vulnerable
· If you’ve been sick but want to confirm you are negative
· If you’re traveling somewhere that requires a negative test

Appointment-only Sites:
You must have an appointment to be tested at the following sites. Anyone arriving without an appointment will be turned away. Please arrive at the time of your appointment. Do not arrive earlier or later than your scheduled appointment time.
Cache County:

Salt Lake County:
· Cannon Health Building, 288 N. 1460 W. (testing location is in the south parking lot), Salt Lake City, Monday through Sunday–7 a.m. to 7 p.m. APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED, however travelers with proof of travel will be tested without an appointment. Register here.
This site offers a dedicated lane for travelers who need testing prior to leaving Utah. Not all travel destinations will accept the types of tests offered at this testing location. Tests offered include PCR, Abbott ID NOW COVID-19 Rapid Molecular test (this is a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test–NAAT, sometimes known as a rapid PCR), RT-PCR, and rapid antigen. PCR results are usually available within 24-48 hours; rapid PCR and rapid antigen results are usually available within 15-60 minutes.

No Appointment Sites:
For sites which do not require appointments, you must arrive at least one hour prior to a site’s publicized closing times in order to be tested. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the line after this time.

TourHealth test sites:
No symptoms required for testing at these sites. Tests provided include: swab PCR, saliva PCR, swab rapid antigen. Free Covid-19 testing for those ages 3 and older.

UDOH mobile test team sites:
The following sites offer testing for those ages three and older but there is no age limit with regard to saliva tests as long as the child can independently produce the required amount of saliva.

Test results from these locations will be emailed to you in an encrypted file from [email protected] 30 minutes to several hours after your test is done. If the testing location is extremely busy, it may take a while to process your results. If you don’t see an email in your inbox, look in spam or junk mail. Or try to open the email on a non-app browser (chrome, firefox, etc.) and on a computer or non-phone device. If you have trouble opening the email or it doesn’t come within a few hours, call (385) 273-7878 for assistance.
For the most accurate results, we recommend people without symptoms receive a PCR test. PCR results are available within 2-3 business days. Antigen (rapid) results are available within two hours.
