Car and City: November 2021 registrations of XPeng models – Gasgoo Auto News

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In November 2021, a total of 14,919 consumers in China purchase insurance for XPeng’s new vehicles, representing a 251% year-on-year hike, while showing a 45% month-on-month leap, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).

In terms of Nov. registrations of China’s domestically-built new energy passenger vehicle (NEPV) models, XPeng still topped the other Chinese NEV startups and ranked sixth among car brands in the world’s largest auto market.

As the hottest-selling XPeng-branded model, the P7’s insurance registrations reached 7,480 units in November, jumping 22.3% over a month earlier. Among China-made NEPV models, the P7 ranked 13th by Nov. registrations.

Regarding car ownership, 6,821 and 605 P7s were registered by private and B2B users respectively in November. Besides, 54 units were registered for car rental service.

Guangzhou, where the startup is headquartered, was still the No.1 city in November regarding the XPeng P7’s registrations. Three cities—Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen—recorded the P7 registrations topping 400 units last month. The occupants of the fifth to seventh places were Chengdu, Chongqing, and Wuhan. Beijing ranked eighth with 286 P7s registered.

The monthly registrations of the XPeng G3 hit all-time highs of 5,308 units in Nov., 97.8% of which were contributed by the G3i. In terms of car ownership, 4,733 and 350 G3s were registered by private and B2B users respectively, while 225 units were recorded for car rental service.

With respect to Nov. registrations of the G3, Guangzhou and Shanghai occupied the top 2 spots among Chinese cities. The winner of the third to fifth spots—Zhaoqing, Shenzhen, and Foshan—were all from Guangdong province.

The robust month-on-month growth in XPeng’s Nov. registrations owed much to the blooming P5 registrations. Of the 2,131 P5s registered last month, 1,860 units were contributed by private users.

XPeng’s home base city Guangzhou still topped the other cities by the Nov. P5 registrations. Apart from Guangzhou, Shenzhen also had over 200 P5s registered in Nov.
