Staffing issues related to high COVID-19 infection rates across Big Island have prompted the County to temporarily change regular services for  the Division of Vehicle Licensing and Registration.

As a result, the updated schedule below includes reduced services and closures of varying offices in Hilo, Kaʻū, and Waimea.

• Hilo and Kaʻū Drivers Licensing Offices will be on Wednesday, January 5, and expected to reopen Thursday, January 6 for Hilo and Tuesday, January 11 for Kaʻū.
• Waimea will be canceling all road tests scheduled for January 5 and will also be closed for lunch between 12-1 pm.
• The Hilo Vehicle Registration Office will remain open on January 5, pending staff availability.
